SAN JOSE, Calif., April 27 (UPI) -- San Jose Earthquakes defender Eddie Robinson undergoes season-ending surgery Thursday to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hamstring.
Robinson was injured in the 22nd minute of Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids. He had an MRI on Monday that revealed the extent of the damage.

The 25-year-old Robinson was bothered by injuries last season and appeared in just five regular-season games. He played every minute of San Jose's three playoff games as the Earthquakes captured their second MLS Cup in three years.
