Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
PHILADELPHIA, April 21 (UPI) -- Two days after beating Ottawa in a seven-game series, Toronto will open another series Thursday night in Philadelphia.
The Eastern Conference semifinal series will be one of three that gets started as the NHL playoffs resume.
Montreal, which rallied from a three-games-to-one deficit to beat Boston, will have some time to rest. The Canadiens' series against the top-seeded Tampa Bay Lightning begins Friday night.
In the Western Conference, the semifinals begin on Thursday. After winning at Vancouver in a seventh game Monday night, Calgary will visit Detroit. And the San Jose Sharks host Colorado in the other West semifinal.
