SEVILLE, Spain, April 18 (UPI) -- Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina made a 40-foot closing putt Sunday to win the Seville Open.
Gonzalez had a closing 3-under-par 69 for a total of 14-under 274. He added this title, his third on the European Tour, to the one he claimed in October at the Telefonica Open in Madrid.
Needing to par the 432-yard 18th to beat England's Jonathan Lomas and Scot Stephen Gallacher, the 34-year-old Gonzalez had his third birdie in the last five holes to win by two.
Lomas had a hole-in-one at the third and eagled the long fifth, but he bogeyed the final hole for a 66 and had to wait to see if the round would go to a playoff.
Gallacher was trying for his first European Tour win in 170 starts, but he bogeyed the 15th and had to settle for three closing pars and a round of 68.
