Astros, Athletics trade pitchers

HOUSTON, April 16 (UPI) -- Houston made a move to bolster their pitching staff Friday, acquiring Chad Harville from Oakland for fellow righthander Kirk Saarloos.

Harville yielded one earned run in 2 2/2 innings in three appearances this season for Oakland. He is 1-2 with a 5.62 ERA in his four-year major league career.

Saarloos began this season at Class AAA New Orleans and was 0-2 with a 15.43 ERA. The 24-year-old spent most of the previous two seasons with the Astros, compiling an 8-8 mark with a 5.61 in 53 appearances, including 21 starts.
