CHICAGO, April 14 (UPI) -- Joe Crede's long bases-loaded single in the ninth inning Wednesday gave the Chicago White Sox a wild 10-9 win over Kansas City.

The Royals rallied from a six-run deficit and scored four times in the ninth off beleagured reliever Billy Koch to take a 9-8 lead. Carlos Beltran struck the tying blow with a two-run homer.

After Koch got booed off the mound, Royals closer Curtis Leskanic gave it away in the bottom of the inning without getting an out.

Leskanic walked Magglio Ordonez to start the inning and Frank Thomas followed with a hard grounder to the right side. Second baseman Mendy Lopez dove to his right to glove the ball, but fumbled it as he tried to throw to second and was charged with an error on the play.

Leskanic walked Carlos Lee to load the bases. Konerko and Crede followed with their key hits.
