MLB: Houston 10, St. Louis 5

ST. LOUIS, April 12 (UPI) -- A misplay by left fielder Marlon Anderson keyed a five-run eighth inning outburst Monday as Houston posted a 10-5 triumph over St. Louis.

An error by pitcher Mike Lincoln led to the tying run in the seventh inning.

The Astros scored four runs in the opening frame but Jared Fernandez could not get out of the bottom of the first as St. Louis also tallied four. An RBI single by Jim Edmonds in the second gave the Cardinals a 5-4 lead.

Lincoln (2-1) in the eighth hit Jeff Kent, allowed a single to Lance Berkman and a sacrifice fly to Richard Hidalgo.

Ensberg bounced to the mound but Lincoln was late going to second and Brad Ausmus singled to load the bases.

Craig Biggio lined a pitch to deep left that Anderson failed to glove, allowing all three runners to score. Adam Everett followed with a hit for a 10-5 cushion.
