Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHICAGO, April 13 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox won their home opener Tuesday, pounding Kansas City 12-5.
Paul Konerko hit a three-run homer and Juan Uribe a solo shot in a fifth inning rally that put the Sox ahead to stay.
The White Sox backed Esteban Loaiza (2-0) with a 14-hit attack that also included a two-run double by Jose Valentin.
The Royals hit four home runs off Loaiza. Mike Sweeney hit a two-run shot and Angel Berroa, Aaron Guiel
and Tony Graffanino added solo homers.
