NBA: Denver 110, Portland 100

DENVER, April 10 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony forced overtime with a jumper, then scored six of his 30 points in overtime Saturday as Denver posted a 110-100 victory over Portland.

Locked in a battle with Cleveland's LeBron James for Rookie of the Year, Anthony may have earned a leg up with his latest performance. He nailed a fadeaway 18-footer over Ruben Patterson with 3.7 seconds left in regulation that forged a 94-94 tie.

Anthony opened the extra session with a pair of jumpers. The 19-year-old capped a 10-1 tear to start overtime with a one-handed leakout dunk for a 104-95 advantage with 1:39 left.

Denver (42-38) remained tied with Utah for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Trail Blazers (41-39) fell one game back. They have a postseason streak of 21 years -- the longest current run in the NBA.
