CLEVELAND, April 6 (UPI) -- Jalen Rose made a three-pointer with six-tenths of a second left Tuesday as Toronto handed the Cleveland Cavaliers their fifth straight loss, 87-86.
The Cavaliers (32-45) have lost nine of their last 10 games and fell into 10th place in the Eastern Conference. They are three games behind eighth-place Boston with just five to play.
LeBron James scored the last six points for the Cavaliers, including two free throws with 11 seconds left that provided Cleveland an 86-84 lead.
On Toronto's last possession, Vince Carter drove the lane and delivered a pass in the corner to Chris Bosh. The rookie rotated the ball to Morris Peterson, who found a wide-open Rose camped outside the arc.
The shot staved off playoff elimination for the Raptors (31-46), four back with five to play.
The Raptors led, 29-20, after one quarter behind Carter's 18 points. Carter finished with 32 points.
