PALM BEACH, Fla., March 30 (UPI) -- The National Football League has decided to continue using the "instant replay" system for at least the next five years.
NFL owners, voting Tuesday during the annual league meeting, agreed to the five-year extension. The vote was 29-3 with Kansas City, Indianapolis and Cincinnati objecting.
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson approved the replay system after voting against it for several years.
"I was against it, but now I think replay is OK," Wilson said.
Owners could have voted for keeping replay permanently, but instead went for the five-year option that includes an extra coach's challenge.
Previously, a coach had only two challenges in a game. Now, if a team is correct on its first two challenges, it will get a third.
The NFL meeting runs through Wednesday.
