
HARTFORD, Conn., March 29 (UPI) -- Diana Taurasi scored 27 points Monday night as Connecticut defeated Penn State, 66-49, to reach the NCAA Women's Tournament Final Four.
Playing in front of her home fans for the last time, Taurasi hit eight of 15 from the field with a pair of three-point baskets.
The two-time All-American also grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists.
Barbara Turner made four of six three-point attempts and scored 26 points while pulling down six rebounds for the Huskies.
Connecticut (29-4) advanced to the Final Four for an unprecedented fifth consecutive time and is seeking a third straight national championship.
Jessica Moore chipped in with eight points, seven boards and two blocks for Connecticut, which owned a 21-13 halftime lead.
Tanisha Wright scored 16 points for the top-seeded Lady Lions (28-6), who shot just 20 percent from the field in the first half.
Connecticut will play either Duke or Minnesota in the national semifinals in New Orlenans next Sunday.
