NEW ORLEANS, March 26 (UPI) -- Amare Stoudemire scored 25 points and Shawn Marion had 21 and 10 rebounds Friday night as Phoenix snapped a five-game skid, 99-94 over New Orleans.

Antonio McDyess' layup provided the Suns with an 89-79 lead, but the Hornets went on a 13-4 run, pulling within 93-92 on Darrell Armstrong's three-pointer with 2:36.

Marion converted a pair of free throws before Jamaal Magloire made a hook shot with 33 seconds left to again cut the deficit to one point.

But Joe Johnson hit a jumper, Marion made two more from the line and Casey Jacobsen stole the ball from P.J. Brown to end it.

Johnson scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half and McDyess finished with 13 and 11 rebounds for the Suns, who beat the Hornets for the first time since a 103-94 victory at Charlotte on April 4, 2001.
