Rookie defenseman Aaron Johnson scored the other goal for Columbus, which has won two in a row following an eight-game losing streak.

Denis made 20 saves in his seventh straight start, matching the shutout mark he set last season. He helped the Blue Jackets kill all eight power plays, including a three-minute advantage in the second period after Jody Shelley sucker punched Alex Henry and was ejected.

Nash capped the scoring with less than two seconds left in the middle period, beating Dwayne Roloson from a bad angle on the right side for his second goal in as many games after a five-game drought. Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk also has 39 goals.
