Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga., March 23 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Falcons, looking for a third receiver to back Peerless Price and Brian Finneran, signed Dez White Tuesday to a two-year contract.
White spent his first four years with the Chicago Bears and averaged 48 catches and 556 yards over the last three seasons.
"Our intent going into free agency was to try and add a veteran receiver who had started in the league," said Falcons General Manager Rich McKay.
White, who attended Georgia Tech, gets to play with Michael Vick.
White started 31 of 60 games with the Bears. His best year came in 2002 when he caught 51 passes for 656 yards and four touchdowns.
