ANAHEIM, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Martin Skoula scored with 4:30 remaining in the third period Wednesday night, allowing Anaheim to escape with a 1-1 tie against St. Louis.
Despite the disappointing draw, St. Louis inched one point ahead of idle Nashville for seventh place in the Western Conference.
St. Louis is 5-1-3 in its last nine games and 5-4-4 since Coach Mike Kitchen replaced the fired Joel Quenneville on Feb. 24.
Ryan Johnson scored the Blues' goal by tipping in a shot from Mike Sillinger in the second period.
Both Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere and St. Louis' Reinhard Divis made 28 saves.
St. Louis had five shots in the overtime, the same number it had in all of the first period and only one less than it had in all of the third period.
