WICHITA, Kan., March 17 (UPI) -- Nate Johnson hit a three-pointer to start the second overtime Wednesday night as Florida State downed Wichita State, 91-84, in the NIT.
Andrew Wilson made four free throws in the final 15.1 seconds to clinch the victory.
Making its first post-season appearance in six years, Florida State (19-13) scored seven of the first nine points in the second overtime.
The Seminoles, who had lost five straight and seven of their previous nine games, trailed by 14 just over three minutes into the second half.
But Von Wafer hit a three-pointer to spark an 18-8 spurt that closed the second half.
Wichita State (21-11) scored the first six points of the first overtime, but the Seminoles responded with a 9-0 run. The Shockers forced a second extra period when Jamar Howard sank a three-pointer with 8.1 seconds left.
