CHICAGO, March 17 (UPI) -- A scuffle during the Conference USA championship game will keep DePaul guard LeVar Seals out of his team's first-round NCAA tourney game.

Seals received a flagrant foul and was ejected after he inexplicably punched Cincinnati's Tony Bobbitt in the second half of the Blue Demons' 55-50 loss last Saturday.

NCAA rules call for an automatic one-game suspension if a player is called for a flagrant personal foul for fighting.

A 6-4 junior known for his defensive play, Seals averages 17 minutes a game along with 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.

DePaul (21-9), which tied for the Conference USA regular season title, will play Dayton Thursday at Buffalo.
