COL BKB: Texas 64, Kansas 60

DALLAS, March 13 (UPI) -- Brandon Mouton scored 18 points and Jason Klotz added 14 as No. 11 Texas moved into the final of the Big 12 tournament Saturday with a 64-60 win over Kansas.

Texas (23-6) advanced to meet No. 7 Oklahoma State in the championship. The Longhorns lost twice to the Cowboys this season.

Wayne Simien of Kansas collected 31 points and 11 rebounds in Friday's quarterfinal rout of Missouri. But the 6-9 forward had trouble all game against the likes of the 6-10 Klotz and 6-8 Brad Buckman and finished with just nine points.

Mouton made back-to-back three-pointers to open a 57-49 lead with 4:41 left. Texas held a 60-52 advantage after Kenny Taylor's three-point play less then two minutes later.

Kansas (21-8) scored the next six points, getting within 60-58 on Simien's two foul shots with 90 seconds to go.
