INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 7 (UPI) -- Jennifer Capriati became the latest high-profile player to withdraw from this week's Pacific Life Open with a back injury, officials announced Sunday.

The world's fifth-ranked player, Capriati recently aggravated her injury, which first occurred at the WTA Championships in November. She will be replaced in the main draw by fellow American Jill Craybas.

Capriati reached the semifinals of the tournament last year.

Friday, world No. 3 Amelie Mauresmo of France withdrew as she remained bothered by a back injury that forced her to withdraw from the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in January.
