Sean Banks, a freshman, poured in 28 points for Memphis (21-6, 12-4 C-USA). He made two free throws to give the Tigers their last lead, 79-78, with 56 seconds to go. Cincinnati (21-6, 12-4) answered when White fed Bobbitt for his three-pointer with 36 seconds left.
That set the stage for the 6-8 Banks, who tried a go-ahead three-pointer, but the 6-7 White contestrf it as the shot missed.
The win created a four-way tie for first place in Conference USA, with Cincinnati, Memphis, Alabama-Birmingham and Charlotte sharing the crown. DePaul has a chance to join them with a win at South Florida, which would give the Blue Demons the top seed in the conference tournament.
