Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TUCSON, March 5 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox Friday released right-hand pitcher Robert Person, who has been troubed by injuries in his career.
Person, who had been signed to a minor league contract by the White Sox in January, had surgery last week to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
The 34-year-old pitcher is 51-42 with a 4.64 ERA in 206 major league games.
