NHL: St. Louis 1, Edmonton 1 (OT)

ST. LOUIS, March 4 (UPI) -- Jussi Markkanen and Petr Nedved made an immediate impact Thursday night as Edmonton rallied for a 1-1 tie with St. Louis.

With the Oilers on the outside looking in at the Western Conference playoffs, they acquired Markkanen and Nedved on Wednesday night from the New York Rangers.

Back with the team for which he made his NHL debut, Markkanen made 27 saves, including seven in overtime, in a duel with Chris Osgood.

Playing on a line with former Rangers teammate and good friend Radek Dvorak, Nedved assisted on Raffi Torres' equalizer 8:31 into the third period.

Osgood stood out for St. Louis, stopping Ryan Smyth on a second-period penalty shot for one of his 31 saves.
