Henin-Hardenne advances in Qatar Open

DOHA, Qatar, March 3 (UPI) -- Top-seed Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium defeated Venezuela's Maria Vento-Kabchi 7-5, 6-3 Wednesday in the second round of the Qatar Women's Open.

Henin-Hardenne remains unbeaten as she tries for her fourth title of the year.

American Jennifer Capriati, the second seed, also advanced, defeating Ting Li of China, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.

Others winning included third-seeded Anastasia Myskina of Russia, fifth-seed Silvia Farina Elia of Italy, American Meghann Shaughnessy and China's Jie Zheng.
