Bears get free agents Jones, Quinn

LAKE FOREST, Ill., March 3 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears Wednesday signed free-agents Thomas Jones and Jonathan Quinn.

Jones, a running back who played for Tampa Bay last season, signed for four years. Quinn, a backup quarterback during his six-year NFL career, was with the Kansas City Chiefs the past two seasons. He agreed to a two-year deal with the Bears.

Jones, who played for Arizona prior to being traded to Tampa Bay last year, is expected to compete for a Bears' starting role with Anthony Thomas.

Quinn played for Jacksonville before moving on to Kansas City. He will probably be a backup to Rex Grossman for the Bears, who waived Kordell Stewart this week.
