WASHINGTON, March 2 (UPI) -- Roberto Luongo made 28 saves for his seventh shutout of the season Tuesday as Florida edged Washington, 1-0, to extend their unbeaten road streak to six games.
Luongo turned aside 10 shots in the first period, seven in the second and 12 in the third for his fourth shutout in seven games and 23rd of his career.
Olli Jokinen scored the lone goal with 3:13 left in the first period while Capitals defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski served a double-minor for high-sticking. Jokinen one-timed a pass from defenseman Andreas Lilja past goaltender Olaf Kolzig.
