MEMPHIS, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Joachim Johansson of Sweden captured his first career title Sunday at the Kroger St. Jude by beating Nicolas Kiefer of Germany, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.

The 21-year-old Johansson became the fourth different Swedish victor in Memphis, joining Bjorn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Magnus Larsson.

Johansson, who earned $128,000, fired seven aces during the 94-minute win, bringing his total for the week to 78.

Kiefer was unable to win his first title since 2000. He ended a six-match losing streak in the first round, then got past Jurgen Melzer, Jan-Michael Gambill and Thomas Enqvist.
