DENVER, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- The Colorado Avalanche traded for a second defenseman in two days Saturday, acquiring Kurt Sauer from Anaheim.
Colorado, which also got a 2005 fourth-round draft pick in the deal, gave up defenseman Martin Skoula.
On Friday, the Avalanche got Bob Boughner from the Carolina Hurricanes for defenseman Chris Bahen and a 2004 third-round pick.
The 6-foot-4 Sauer had one goal, four assists and 32 penalty minutes in 55 games with Anaheim.
"We are excited to add a defenseman of Kurt's size and ability to our roster," Said Colorado General Manager Pierre Lacroix. "At 23, Kurt is a young player already possessing over a year's worth of NHL regular-season and playoff experience."
Skoula had two goals and 14 assists in 58 games with the Avalanche this season.
