CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Raymond Felton scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half Saturday to lead No. 19 North Carolina to a 78-71 victory over Florida State in an ACC rematch.
Florida State (18-9) erased a 24-point deficit in a 90-81 overtime win over the Tar Heels on Jan. 22. This time, North Carolina (16-7) led by as many as 17 points in the first half and held a 43-27 halftime advantage.
The Seminoles, who hit 15 three-pointers, pulled within 65-64 on a long jumper by Andrew Wilson with 4:03 remaining. Wilson finished with 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc.
But Rashad McCants, who had 21 points, connected on a three-pointer on North Carolina's next possession and Felton converted six free throws in the final three minutes.
The loss was the 22nd in a row in road conference games for the Seminoles.
