NBA: Orlando 102, Denver 98

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Drew Gooden scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter Friday night as the Orlando Magic defeated the Denver Nuggets, 102-98.

Orlando's win came despite a second half without leading scorer Tracy McGrady, thrown out of the game after a fit of anger.

As time expired in the first half, Chris Anderson blocked McGrady's driving layup. Furious no foul was called, McGrady twice kicked the ball into the stands and was ejected, picking up a technical foul after each kick.

After surpassing 40 points in his previous two games, McGrady was held to 15, including the 10,000th of his career.

The Magic stayed close in the third quarter before taking control in the final period. Gooden scored Orlando's first eight points of the fourth quarter, including a layup that put the Magic ahead for good, 81-80, with 11:28 left.

Orlando missed its first eight free throws in the fourth quarter but made 7-of-10 in the final minute.

Juwan Howard had 24 points to lead the Magic, who overcame a 13-point first-half deficit to post their 11th straight home win over the Nuggets.
