Donald leads at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Luke Donald fired a 7-under 65 Friday that vaulted him one shot in front at the midway point of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Donald, who won during his rookie year on the PGA Tour in 2002, turned in his score at Pebble Beach, one of three courses used for this premier stop on the circuit.

He had a 12-foot putt at the 18th to shoot a 63, but ran it five feet past the cup and missed the next one for a bogey.

Donald was at 10-under 134 for two rounds while Tom Pernice, J.J. Henry, Ken Duke and Vijay Singh were all at 135. Singh is trying to record his 12th straight top-10 finish, which would be two short of the all-time record held by Jack Nicklaus.

Phil Mickelson, Jesper Parnevik and Corey Pavin were among those at 136.

Defending champion Davis Love was at 3-over 147.
