Buffalo opened the scoring midway through the first period when defenseman Andy Delmore's wrist shot from the slot deflected off Morrisonn's skate for a power-play goal.

But after the miscue, the 21-year-old defenseman set up tallies by Mike Knuble and Joe Thornton to give Boston a 2-1 edge.

P.J. Axelsson and Martin Lapointe scored in the second before Glen Murray and defenseman Nick Boynton added third-period goals.

Rookie goaltender Andrew Raycroft made 23 saves to improve to 10-2 in his last 12 decisions.
