Kuchar, Henry share Pebble Beach lead

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Matt Kuchar and J.J. Henry took advantage of a perfect day on the Monterey Peninsula Thursday to grab a one-shot lead at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

They both shot 65 while Tommy Tolles was alone at 66. Vijay Singh, seeking his 12th consecutive top-10 finish, was among those tied for fourth at 67.

Phil Mickelson, a winner two weeks ago at the Bob Hope, shot a 68, as did 50-year-old Craig Stadler.

Kuchar shot his 65 at Poppy Hills, generally regarded as the easiest of the three courses used for the tournament. Henry posted his total at Pebble Beach.

Spyglass Hill is also used for the event with the low 60 professionals scheduled to play the final round at Pebble Beach.
