
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Hall of Famer Magic Johnson will participate in the Shooting Stars competition Feb. 14 in Los Angeles as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend.
The Shooting Stars will feature four teams consisting of an NBA player, a WNBA player, and former NBA star in a timed one-round shooting event.
The event will be held at Los Angeles Staples Center, one night before the All-Star Game.
Johnson will headline the Los Angeles Lakers team that will include guard Derek Fisher and Los Angeles Sparks center Lisa Leslie.
The Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs also will have teams in the field.
Representing the Clippers will be current Clippers guard Marko Jaric, Sparks guard Nikki Teasley, and Terry Cummings.
The Detroit team includes Pistons guard Chauncey Billups, Detroit Shock forward Cheryl Ford and John Salley.
The San Antonio team will consist of Spurs guard Manu Ginobili, recently retired San Antonio Silver Stars guard Jennifer Azzi and current NBA broadcaster Steve Kerr.
