Pitino to coach Cardinals Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Louisville Coach Rick Pitino said Friday he would be back on the bench for Saturday's game at Marquette.

Pitino has returned to the team after taking a three-day medical leave of absence for a problem he termed "urological related."

The 51-year-old Pitino received final medical clearance Friday and plans to be back for the key Conference USA contest.

"It's been a difficult 36 hours," Pitino said Friday. "I'm excited to do what I want to do the most -- coach the team against Marquette."

Pitino did not elaborate on his condition, but said he has been experiencing severe pain for several weeks. He underwent a series of tests Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic.

Assistant Kevin Willard coached Louisville (16-1) to a 64-48 victory over Houston Wednesday night.
