DALLAS, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Sergei Zubov had a pair of assists and scored the fluke game-winner in a four-goal third period Wednesday night as Dallas roared past Ottawa, 5-3.
The Stars erased a two-goal deficit in the first 3:01 of the final period before Zubov's shot from the neutral zone put them ahead with 3:07 remaining.
Goaltender Patrick Lalime got a piece of the puck, but it squeezed through him and rolled into the net with the help of defenseman Brian Pothier, who made an unsuccessful attempt to clear it out.
Scott Young, who set up Pierre Turgeon's tying tally, padded Dallas' lead 74 seconds later with his seventh goal.
David Oliver also scored for the Stars, who improved to 13-5-6 in their last 24 games.
Ottawa had suffered just two losses in its previous 20 games.
