NBA: Phoenix 89, Atlanta 85

ATLANTA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Shawn Marion scored 22 points and Joe Johnson added 20 Tuesday as the Phoenix Suns snapped a three-game losing streak with an 89-85 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Marion and Johnson combined to make 7-of-10 shots in the third quarter, when Phoenix used an 18-2 run that spanned seven minutes.

After making just 1-of-8 shots and scoring four points in the first half, Marion was unstoppable in the third quarter. He scored 11 in the period and Phoenix shot 65 percent while outscoring Atlanta, 30-17.

The Hawks regained the lead early in the final period but could not stop Marion, Johnson and Howard Eisley, who scored all of his seven points in the last three minutes.

Stephen Jackson led the Hawks with 19 points and Theo Ratliff added 16 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Atlanta failed for the 14th time to string together consecutive wins.
