HATTIESBURG, Miss., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Tony Bobbitt scored 19 points and Jason Maxiell 17 Saturday to lead No. 5 Cincinnati to an 83-47 rout of Southern Mississippi.
Three days after its first loss of the season, Cincinnati (14-1) came here seeking revenge for a stunning 63-61 loss to the Golden Eagles in last season's Conference USA tournament.

On the heels of being berated by Coach Bob Huggins following a 93-66 loss at Louisville on Wednesday, Cincinnati raced to a 13-3 lead in the first five minutes and increased the advantage to 32-8 with just under six minutes left in the first half.
Southern Mississippi (9-7) was playing its first game since an 83-61 victory over Marquette on Jan. 16.
