Curry slated for elbow surgery

Jan. 21, 2004 at 8:11 PM   |   Comments

TORONTO, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Toronto forward Michael Curry will undergo elbow surgery next week and be sidelined indefinitely, the team announced Wednesday.

A solid defensive player, Curry has appeared in all 39 games this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds while playing 17.5 minutes per contest.

To take Curry's roster spot, the Raptors activated guard Milt Palacio from the injured list. Palacio, who has been sidelined since January 4 with a minor fracture of the left wrist, is averaging 4.5 points and 3.2 points in 26 games.

The struggling Raptors (20-19), who have lost four of their last six games, have been without star Vince Carter for the last two contests due to a right quadriceps injury.
