After taking a 2-1 lead through 20 minutes on tallies by Pierre Turgeon and Bill Guerin, the Stars grabbed a two-goal advantage on Oliver's first since Dec. 11, 1999.
As defenseman Richard Matvichuk retrieved a loose puck in the left corner, Oliver hustled to get positioning down low and rebounded Matvichuk's slap shot from the point.
Oliver left the game with a throat injury, but his tally proved to be the game-winner as Brendan Morrison struck on the power-play with 4:07 to play in the second to make it a one-goal game.
