Donovan, a striker for the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer, became the first player to win both Male Athlete of the Year and youth honors.

Adu, 14, became the highest-paid player in MLS history last year with a guaranteed salary of $500,000. On Thursday, he signed an endorsement deal with Pepsi after inking a similar $1 million arrangement with Nike.

D.C. United will make Adu the top pick in Friday's MLS Draft.

Donovan, who won youth honors in 2000, led the U.S National team with seven goals and five assists and registered four goals against Cuba last July.

Wambach totaled nine goals for the United States in 2003.
