NHL: Edmonton 4, Chicago 3

CHICAGO, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The Edmonton Oilers got a rare goal from Ethan Moreau as they extended their road winning streak to three games Sunday with a 4-3 win over Chicago.

Rookie Jarret Stoll and Ryan Smyth scored shorthanded goals during the same penalty in the second period and killed all four power plays by the Blackhawks. That ran Edmonton's penalty-killing streak to 20 chances over five games.

Defenseman Nathan Dempsey's goal with 96 seconds left in the second period lifted Chicago into a 3-3 tie. But Moreau broke the deadlock 55 seconds into the third with his first goal since Nov. 18.

Shawn Horcoff centered from behind the net and Moreau deflected the puck past former Oilers goaltender Steve Passmore to end a 19-game drought.

Brad Isbister also tallied for Edmonton, which has won consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 18-20.
