MIAMI, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Safety Sean Taylor and defensive tackle Vince Wilfork of Miami will pass up their final year of college eligibility to enter the NFL draft.
It is expected that tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. will follow suit and announce similar plans. Miami Coach Larry Coker said Friday that Winslow, the winner of the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end, will forgo his senior year.
"Kellen is going to go and should go," Coker said.
Winslow Jr., the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow, finished the season with 60 receptions for 605 yards and one touchdown. He had five catches for 48 yards and partially blocked a punt in the Orange Bowl win.
Both Taylor and Wilfork are expected to be first-round picks. Taylor tied for the national lead in interceptions with 10, including three he returned for touchdowns.
The 6-2, 344-pound Wilfork a good run stopper and had six sacks.
