The bowl season continues Friday

TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- hree more games dot the college football bowl landscape on Friday, with the playing status of Ell Roberson a major topic of discussion.

The Kansas State quarterback has been identified as a suspect in an alleged sexual assault in the Phoenix area. KSU Athletic Director Ken Weiser said it would be up to Coach Bill Snyder as to whether Roberson plays.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that Roberson told police he had consensual sex with a 22-year-old woman. No arrests have been made. Roberson is a dual threat, having passed for 2,251 yards and 24 touchdowns and run for 943 yards and 11 scores.

No. 10 Kansas State (11-3) earned its way to the Bowl Championship Series with a 35-7 victory over Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game and will meet defending national champion Ohio State (10-2) in the Fiesta Bowl.

Elsewhere, unranked Clemson takes on No. 7 Tennessee at the Peach Bowl, and 18th-ranked Mississippi faces No. 22 Oklahoma State at the Cotton Bowl.
