DALLAS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Niklas Sundstrom scored with 60 seconds left in the third period Wednesday night, lifting Montreal into a 1-1 tie with Dallas.

Dallas' Marty Turco was closing in on his third shutout of the season when Sundstrom scored his fourth goal off a scramble from in front of the net.

Turco made nine of his 20 saves in the third period, during which the Stars were outshot, 10-2.

In overtime, Dallas could not convert a late power play after Canadiens defenseman Shldon Souray was penalized for tripping with 49 seconds remaining.

Jose Thodore made 19 saves for Montreal, which concluded a 1-1-1-1 road trip.

Brendan Morrow scored a power-play goal with 4:24 left in the second period for the Stars, who extended their unbeaten streak to a season-high six games (4
