COL BKB: Connecticut 91, Masachusetts 67

HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Ben Gordon scored 20 of his 34 points in the first half as top-ranked Connecticut beat Masachusetts, 91-67, Tuesday for its seventh straight victory.

Connecticut (10-1) scored the game's first 11 points and coasted to its 13th straight triumph over the Minutemen.

Gordon topped the 30-point plateau for the second time this season and helped Connecticut extend its winning streak in Hartford to 18 games. The Huskies also have won 86 straight contests against non-conference opponents from New England.

Massachusetts (5-5) had a three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 0-4 on the road. Jeff Viggiano led the Minutemen with 22 points.
