COL FB: Hawaii 54, Houston 48 (3OT)

HONOLULU, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Timmy Chang threw for 469 yards and five touchdowns Thursday night, leading Hawaii to a 54-48, triple-overtime win over Houston in the Hawaii Bowl.

Chang, who began the game on the bench, had two touchdown passes in overtime and Michael Brewster produced the winning score on an eight-yard run in the third extra session.

Houston then ran out of downs with Kevin Kolb throwing incomplete on fourth and five from the 20.

Chang completed 25 of 41 passes and three of his touchdown throws went to Jason Rivers. Jackie Battle ran for 124 yards and three touchdowns for Houston in a game that lasted more than four hours and produced more than 1,100 yards of offense.

Hawaii (9-5) appeared to have the game won in regulation, but Kolb hooked up with Vincent Marshall on an 81-yard touchdown play with 22 seconds remaining.
