Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TORONTO, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Mats Sundin's goal with 29 seconds remaining lifted the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-2 victory Saturday over the Montreal Canadiens.
With time winding down in regulation, Sundin took a feed from Mikael Renberg and fired a shot toward the net from the outer edge of the right faceoff circle.
Bending down to block the shot, Francis Bouillon watched it hit his stick and jump over the left shoulder of goaltender Jose Theodore, giving the Maple Leafs a 3-2 lead.
The goal stretched Sundin's streak to three games and put the Maple Leafs' captain ahead of George Armstrong for fourth place on the club's all-time points list with 714.
Defenseman Bryan McCabe added an empty-netter for Toronto, which improved to 12
