SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Hakim Warrick scored 24 points Saturday to lead 21st-ranked Syracuse to a 74-61 victory over Siena.
Warrick bounced back from a pair of low-scoring performances and helped the Orangemen (5-1) win their fifth in a row.
Syracuse's leading scorer, Warrick, also helped the team get by a second straight opponent from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Three days after rallying from an eight-point halftime deficit against Manhattan, Syracuse closed the first half on 22-8 run and took a 42-27 lead into the locker room. But the Orangemen struggled in the second half and let a 19-point lead slip to 66-57 with 4 1/2 minutes remaining before.
Craig Forth added 14 points for Syracuse.
Facing the Orangemen for the first time in nearly 16 years, the Saints (3-5) got 19 points from center Michael Haddix but suffered their fifth straight loss.
