COL BKB: Pittsburgh 70, Murray St 49

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Carl Krauser scored 19 points and Chris Taft tied a school record with seven blocks Saturday as No. 20 Pittsburgh posted a 70-49 win over Murray State.

The Panthers handed the Racers their first loss and improved to 10-0 for the first time since 1929-30, when they started 12-0. Pittsburgh also extended its school-record home winning streak to 30 games.

Mark McCarroll added 14 points for the Panthers.

Antione Whelchel led Murray State (8-1) with just nine points. The Racers, who were seeking their first 9-0 start since the 1998-99 season, shot just 29 percent (18-of-62).
