FOXBORO, Mass., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Cornerback Tyrone Poole had two interceptions in the fourth quarter that set up touchdowns as New England turned back Jacksonville, 27-13.
The Patriots extended their winning streak to 10 games in a contest played in a driving snowstorm in the second half.
With their defense continuing to dominate, the Patriots (12-2) remained tied with Kansas City for the NFL's best record while moving a step closer to gaining home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
Poole made the game's biggest plays with his interceptions of rookie Byron Leftwich that helped turn a close game into a 27-6 lead.
It looked like the Patriots were on their way to not allowing a touchdown at home for the fifth straight game, but Leftwich spoiled that bid with a three-yard scoring pass to Kevin Johnson with under four minutes remaining.
Seth Marler kicked a pair of field goals in the first half for the Jaguars (4-10).
